The
Traditional Paint Forum came into being as a society in Edinburgh on 3rd
December 1994,
of forty founding members who share a common aim to promote better understanding
and appreciation of traditional paint.
The Aims and Objectives of the Traditional
Paint Forum as laid down in the constitution are to debate and encourage
the development of understanding and appreciation of traditional paint
by means of:
| a) |
Exchanging,
collating and disseminating information, through publication of a
regular journal, and by holding meetings and conferences. |
| b) |
Encouraging
practical research and development through field studies, trials,
monitoring and analysis. |
| c) |
Encouraging
development of appropriate industrial and craft skills and techniques. |
| d) |
Educating builders,
conservators, craftsmen, designers, historians, journalists, property
owners, architects, surveyors, etc, through lectures, demonstrations,
publications and courses. |
| e) |
Developing
contacts with institutions and individuals who have relevant experience
or knowledge. |
| f) |
Carrying on
other activities which further any of the above. |
The Forum will periodically hold a Conference and General
Meeting at which information and views will be exchanged and the aims
and objectives will be demonstrated and shared. It will publish a journal,
